- Grind ½ cup of roasted gram dal to a fine powder using a mixer jar.
- Transfer the powdered dal to a large mixing bowl.
- Add 2 cups of rice flour, ½ cup of besan, 1 tsp of chilli powder, ¼ tsp of turmeric, a pinch of hing, 2 tbsp of white sesame seeds, and ¾ tsp of salt. Mix well to combine.
- Add 2 tbsp of hot oil and mix well. Crumble and mix until the flour is moist.
- Gradually add water as needed and knead the mixture into a smooth and nonsticky dough.
- Attach a line-shaped mold to the chakli maker.
- Stuff the dough into the chakli maker and press it directly into hot oil.
- Fry the ribbon pakodas on medium flame on both sides until they turn golden brown and crisp.
- Drain the fried pakodas on a kitchen paper to remove excess oil.
